Someone please help!!!
I have spent several days on this forum trying to solve this problem,
but to no avail! Well, it is the "Cannot find server" problem for
certain sites, and I believe these are secure sites. I cannot access
Microsoft sites, cannot access my Hotmail account though I can open the
page, log in, and that is when it goes to the "cannot find server"
detested page! I cannot even access my Hotmail acount through OE. AND, I
can access many other sites, so the connection settings must be OK.
I have seen a number of people with similar problems and have gone
through all the solutions offered, BUT NONE WORKED! So please, can you
offer NEW solutions? Note offered solutions and what I have tried:
1. IT IS NOT THE SECURITY SETTINGS ISSUE, EVEN AT LOWEST I STILL CANNOT
GET ACCESS;
2. I AM NOT ON PROXY, AND THE PROXY OPTION IS DISABLED;
3. IT IS NOT ABOUT ENABLING/DISABLING THE SSL/TLS/PCT SETTINGS IN
SECURITY - I HAVE DONE ALL THAT;
4. MY COOKIES ARE 100% ENABLED;
5. I AM NOT USING ZONE ALARM OR SOME OTHER PERSONAL FIREWALL;
6. OTHER USERS ON THE SAME DOMAIN ACCESS THESE SITES SO IT IS NOT ISP,
ETC; AND MY DNS NUMBERS ARE ALRIGHT;
7. I HAVE 128 BIT ENCRYPTION WITH THE LATEST IE INSTALLED - 6.0.2800;
8. I ALSO RUN OPERA, NETSCAPE AND MOZILLA AND CANNOT ACCESS THEM EITHER
THRU THERE;
9. I AM RUNNING MCAFFE WITH THE LATEST DAT FILES;
10. I AM NOT RUNNING AN ACTIVE ADWARE DISABLING SOFTWARE, THOUGH I RAN
SPYBOT AND ADAWARE AT SOME POINT;
11. CLEARED COOKIES, TEMP FILES, CLEARED ADS, UNINSTALLED KAZAA
COMPLETELY
So, WHAT ELSE IS WRONG??
Some suggest updating service packs, but HOW CAN ONE DO THIS IF YOU
CANNOT ACCESS ANY OF MICROSOFT SITES?
Please help as I am desperate, and I certainly want to read my Hotmail
mail! And, oh, this happens on and off! One day I can access the sites,
another day I find I can't! Really sucks.......
