passwords

i live in a house with a few other people and they are
always getting on my computer and downloading things i
don't want on here. my question is " is there anyway i can
make the computer password protected" other than the
screensaver password? I don't want anyone to be able to
get on the computer unless they have the password. is that
at all possible and if so could you please tell me how to
do it. thank you so very much
