It seems like something that people should be clearly informed about by
Microsoft so they don't encounter this problem without knowing the cause and
have to endure it until they learn the cause and how to fix the problem
(which may be a considerable hassle and which some people may not ever
figure out how to do). Microsoft and others have touted the convenient
"intuitiveness" of using Windows, even by the very unknowledgeable, for many
years and users have reason to expect it actually exists. Users also have
good reason to expect a long existing feature will work as it has in the
past unless informed otherwise.

Additionally, it should be noted that RTFM has become an obsolete acronym
and TINFM has gained some use because the manufacturers presumably believe
their operating systems are so intuitive that manuals are not required.
Anyway that is a very charitable presumption of the reason for this practice
which is out of conformance with several parts of my employer's Quality
Policy and my employer's Mission Statement.

Viruses within the body of email messages rather than attached to them has
become a noticeable trend. Perhaps a reason for this is that people are
increasingly careful about the use of attachments.

"see above comments" applies here also.

Mr. William's frequent comments about stupidity of people seem unnecessary,
unprovoked and ill-mannered. I would give greater considertion to the
merits of the poster's opinions if they were expressed in a less hostile
manner and believe that news group discussions in general (for news groups
of this sort anyway) are more useful and pleasant when they are civil in
tone.
