I haven't seen this situation exactly, but I agree that setting NT 4
NTFS permissions on a server from a Win2K workstation seems to result in
some quirks. This is probably related to the change in the inheritance
model. Rather than require your admin to actually go to the server (is
laziness the actual mother of invention?), why not put the File Manager
(winfile.exe) program from NT 4 on her Win2K WS? Yes, it's a crappy old
program, but for setting NTFS permissions, it seems not to cause the
same problems as Windows Explorer. For anything else, she can use
Windows Explorer.
