uncheck "do not allow attachments.....

(I would recommend that once you learn this, you leave it checked, and
uncheck it only to retrieve a specific desired attachment.)

This can be an important safety net. An attachment, even from someone you
know, can be virally infected, or be a trojan--which some antivirus
solutions don't detect.
