Win 95, 98, ME were intended as HOME operating systems and therefore
really don't have what you might call "security features". I think you
would need a third-party program to encrypt files to minimize snooping.
You might consider a USB key chain storage device. I think they can
hold up to 128 MB and you can take them with you when you go.

Anything beyond that would require Windows XP, probably Pro rather than
Home edition. And you'd need to run NTFS. Complexity level would
increase quite a bit, but it could be done.

Just some thoughts. There are probably many other approaches. Be VERY
careful if you DO encrypt your files. And good encryption program can
keep YOU from your own data if you forget your password or fail to back
up your encryption keys.
