Lost info, need to bypass the password!

  HELP!!! I need to know if there is any way of bypassing
any windows password system... School computer has
rebooted and lost all info. The only way of finding the
lost info is by going to the back-up computer and
retreaving the files, its old and we have no idea what
type of sys it uses (we think it might have windows)
thus "Huston we have a problem"...

*Unknown operating sys.
*No password.

We have tryed all old passwords and its just no good...
Nothing works...
Help is very much appreciated! Thanx in advance!
