One of the worst kept secrets about Microsoft Office is their unofficial
discount policy called "Academic Edition". You don't really think all
those Academic Edition copies being sold at CompUSA, via mail order, and
on eBay are going to real students and teachers, do you?
Of course, I understand you don't want to cheat and the seller is
technically supposed to ask for some verification, but why not just sign
up for one night course at your local community college to qualify? All
you need is a student ID. See if Home Depot gives out student IDs when
they hold those Saturday morning course on laying tile. If they do, you
qualify.
