Center for Internet Security - Please Help

My supervisor who is a non-computer person has asked me
to install the Benchmark and Scoring tools provided by
CIS. CIS claims that these tools are non-invasive and
will not damage the system, but they also say that they
are not Microsoft Certified tools and their organization
is not affliated with Microsoft. If you have any info
about how these tools work or any problems associated
with them, please respond to my e-mail. I need to have
all the facts possible before I install potentially
dangerous software. Thanks.
