I guess if you're using Outlook or Outlook Express for both your personal
email and for usenet, that information could leak out. You could use a free
third party newsreader such as FreeAgent, or if you prefer the poor security
of the Microsoft email and newsreader, you could use Outlook for email [if
you own it, comes with Office] and Outlook Express for newsgroups.
This is probably not exactly related to your problem here, but do note that
if you put your true email address in Outlook express, any web site you
browse to using Internet Explorer can get your email address just by asking.
