If the preview pane is on, even a right click will cause IE to preview
the e-mail, causing any malicious code to execute.

That's Norton's problem. AFIK, the version in the file is the correct
text, exactly as it came over the wire.

Spam's generally don't have attachments. Viruses and worms do.
