I've been through the same thing We're using some
software that requires JVM 3805, and it's no longer
available for direct download. If you use Windows Update,
look for a security update dated March 4, 2002, (should be
listed under the Critical updates, click the + sign to see
the list), and will mention in the information for the
update the "Java Applet Can Redirect Browser Traffic"
problem. That update will update the JVM to 3805.
I'm still trying to get a direct link though, I don't want
my users downloading windows update control and updating
willy-nilly, that's something my network admins prefer to
do.
