You could confirm that their login ID is not logged into any other
workstations on the network and also is not being used to start any services
anywhere. There's a small chance it could also be that person X last signed
into person Y's computer and person Y tried to sign in over and over without
noticing that the login ID on the login screen belonged to person X.
