I was installing onto .NET Server I think it was RC2 instead of RC3.
I've reformatted and install Win2000 Server and it works like a charm.

Now I've ran into another problem. I've configured the Server Service, and
it is running. I have since, installed the Client Service on a Windows XP
Pro machine, and have uninstalled the Windows XP Critical Patch for Q317277.
This patch displays as critical when browsing to www.windowsupdate.com, but
when I have configured the Client software to run, it goes through the
scheduled time, and I don't get any updates of a new critical patch being
available.

I'm logged into the Windows XP Pro machine as a user from Administrative
account, and I have it configured to ping the Windows 2000 Server SUS
software as well, but I don't get any notifications.

I have a couple more questions though:

1. I have configured the client by modifying the registry, instead of the
Automatic Update tab in system properties. Here are they settings I have in
the following registry hive:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU

AUOptions = 3
NoAutoUpdate = 0
ScheduledInstallDay = 0
ScheduledInstallTime = 21
UseWUServer = 1

And the following registry information for the following Hive:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate

WUServer = "http://SUSServername"
WUStatusServer = "http://SUSServername"

My question is regarding these last two settings - Should I have
http://SUSServername in here or http://SUSServername/susadmin

Does it know where to look for in the SUS Server for the update list and to
compare to find out what is missing on the client by browsing to just the
servername?

Any help is much appreciated
