It's hard to tell for sure what a file is by the file name, but searching
google for "trickler" seems to give some clues that it could possibly be a
spyware application that installs along with programs like "Gator" [which is
in turn installed along with freeware programs like the free file sharing
program Audiogalaxy].
IF this is what this is, look again for an uninstaller or anything unusual
in start, settings, control panel, add/remove programs.
If you still can't download it, some versions of windows will let you run
the msconfig command to look at what is starting up when your system starts
up, or you could download and install the free Startup Cop program [search
google or download.com to find it]. If you can use either of these to
successfully identify and remove this program from starting up, then restart
your computer and rename the file or folder containing the file. Reboot
again and make sure your system still boots up.
In general, using an antivirus program that is set to download updates every
day [such as norton], along with a hardware firewall such as netgear or
linksys BEFSR41 [starting at $70] AND a software firewall starting with
Sygate [free for non-commercial use] is also helpful. I also recommend the
free languard file integrity checker program from www.gfi.com All this
should help you secure your system somewhat.
