I would get a second opinion before you format your hard drive due to a
virus. I don't know the details, but I do not think this should normally be
necessary with Klez. It could be that you had a second virus that caused
damage.

Using outlook express filters to avoid a virus is going to be trouble and is
not going to work. You absolutely need an antivirus program that is set to
download updates every day. I recommend Norton. Also, turn off the
autopreview window in Outlook Express, install all security patches from
http://www.microsoft.com/security , and consider installing a hardware and
software firewall such as Netgear or Linksys BEFSR41 starting at $70 and
sygate which is free for non-commercial use.

I've found the outlook and outlook express filters to be unreliable. Even
if they were reliable, you will always have a problem with any filter of
blocking things you really wanted to read like emails from friends, and/or
things you wanted to be blocked still getting through.
