If you _trust_ the company, eg your electricity company then go ahead and
give your e-mail
address. I'm sure they have a strict policy not to give it to anyone else.
I keep giving mine out to companies and I don't get much spam... a few (2-4)
a week and I'm sure
my e-mail address has been taken from newsgroups in those cases.
In short, go ahead and give your e-mail addy to an electricity co. I mean
why would they give
it to anyone else? That makes no sence.
You can also have two e-mail addresses, one for important stuff and one for
not so important.
