To Mr V@xxxxxxxxx:

Very good reply. You have essentially re-inforced my thought of
letting "sleeping dogs (or whatever is sleeping) lie. I just wanted to
hear it from someone who knows what's up.

I plan to continue to monitor ery closely anything that might be wierd
and in the meantime put the necessary effort to learn about these
things and maybe later on do some tinkering withthem.

I'm retured now but in my early years, I did in-field for customer
operating system modification to allow real-time applications to run
along with normal everyday vanilla user jobs in the Control Data 6600,
7600, and the follow-on Cyber series. I had the operating system
source code to view, examine, modify and test - and I felt in control.
But now with all the operating systems now distributed in binary only,
I really get frustrated when things occur and I am at others' mercy.

I do have an open source machine that I play with, but I have
contractual requirements to work with WINDOWS XP.

Thanks for taking the time. I appreciate your efforts..

John Carter
