Its not a virus. Its as it says the Application is not valid as in doesn't work error in the code. You dont have a virus but a dodgy application.

It began last week when I could not install Stinger. After downloading it repeatedly, I still got the same message "stinger, exe is not a valid Win32 application" I tried downloading it on two other computers with the same result.
Now, I can not download and install anything. Attempts to get an on line scan from both McAfee and Panda were un successful. The Active X would appear to be downloading but after half an hour of that, nothing happened. Repeated attempts gave the same result.
Avast, AdAware. SpyBot, Windows Defender and SuperAnntispyware could find nothing. I googled the not a valid............. but I could not identify my problem from any of the hits. I read back in this group as well.
Can anyone tell me what the virus is and why all 3 machines in the house are acting the same way? Please!!!
