As per your initial description and i went to the site posted it would be applicable to the older version of vundo or so 30% of the most current vundo infection. Can you by any chance post in here the files flagged as vundo by your current Security Application - maybe we can isolate what variant of vundo you have.

Vundo is a pain in the @55!!!@!
I received it a while a go and i found this site SOOOO helpful for remoing
VUNDO.
http://www.nerdhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7282&highlight=vundo
Only problem is once all traces of VUNDO were removed, i initiated a virus
scan (a very very old NORTON antivirus) and found some traces if Trojan Vundo
and Trojan Dropper. Though these were quaratined (few) i have to worry anout
this trojan Dropper.
Any help??
