| I have an infected XP Home computer that will only boot into safe
| mode. It has no AV software on it. I tried a installing a couple of
| products on it, but none of them would install in safe mode. This
| seems like a big deficiency, but maybe there is a good reason for it.
| Is there some AV software I can install and run in safe mode?
|
| BTW, this virus acts sort of like blaster, but when I ran FixBlast
| from Symantec on the computer (in safe mode), it said it was not
| infected with blaster.
|
| Another BTW, this is a friend's computer, so no yelling at me for not
| running AV software to begin with. He had it directly connected to a
| DSL modem with no router or software firewall, his MS updates were WAY
| out of date, plus he has two teenagers using the computer. Amazing it
| took him this long to get infected.
The PC must be serviced such that it boots in Normal Mode
Many installation packages use teh Microsoft installer Package and will require the service
which will only run in Normal Mode.
Please explain EXACTLY why the PC can't boot into Normal Mode.
