hello everyone

i m a layman in computer and hope to seek some expert advice here.
apologies for unprofessional description below.

i discovered some hackers disturbing my home IBM computer for months.
first he just disconnect my LAN card so that i cant connect to
internet, as i found out under my computer -- system--installation
manager -- LAN & reconnect it

(snip very long "my computer's been hacked" story)

If everything you say is true, disconnect the computer from the Internet
and any local area network and do a clean install of Windows. Back up
your data first since everything will be removed during the clean
install.

you will need on-hand

After Windows is installed, install drivers one at a time. Make sure
that the drivers you install are from a trustyworthy source such as the
OEM's website. Do not connect to the Internet until XP Service Pack 2
has been installed and the Windows Firewall is active. Install programs
one at a time and only from trusthworthy sources. Install a good
antivirus and update its definitions. Scan any backed up data before
putting it on your clean hard drive.

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting
this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).
