Ta, i thought it was as such. I'll give that program a go.
Windows Defender (beta 2) did nothing
Avast! deleted some files, but clearly didn't get it all.
what the hell, spyware removal software is so hit and miss.
Thanks for the help.

Sorry... just so to add it can be fixed without reformating your system and
starting from scratch.

Hi everyone,
Have a issue with bit of spyware that i managed to pick up. Avast
delete some of the virus infection and adware picked up some other
pieces of the spyware (had to use adware after windows defender didn't
pick up anything). Anyway, avast is reporting that the file
c:\windows\system32\hjkkj.tmp is constantly being written to, and that
file along with c:\windows\system32\hjkkj.ini, and hjkkj.bak can't be
deleted. If you delete hjkkj.ini (even in safe mode) it is just
replaced like it's protected file or something.
c:\programs\toolbar888 was in program files but i managed to get rid of
it manual (neither adware or defender or avast did anything to it).
Does anyone know what spyware/virus this is? or what to do about it? It
might be time for a format...
Thanks for replies.
