If you get an error message or warning box, please quote the exact text
of same. What firewall are you using?

I am using trend's pc cillin 12 Internet security with it's firewall
applied, it stay updated, every time i connect. The warning boxes are
usually for MS05-39 or MS04-11 frequently. I am cautious of which sites
that I attend.
Original post:
"While connected to a secure site,i.e., a major financial institutions
online access,I am using a firewall and IE7B3, how is it possible for a
network virus to be present. This baffles me and irritates me since my
computer is updated yet Trend Micro still halts the connection. Maybe
for a good reason?"
OK, perhaps we have a language problem. If English is not your native
language, then you might want to post in one of the MS newsgroups for your
language. I say this not meaning to offend, but just being practical about
the difficulties of giving technical advice to someone where there is a
language barrier.
If this is an IE7 beta issue, then post in the newsgroup specifically set up
for IE7: microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general
If you feel this is a virus issue, then you are in the right place
(English-speaking) now.
In either case, you need to describe what is happening - including the exact
text of error messages - much more clearly. Using bullet points or numbered
points can help. Here's an example:
1. I connect to the Internet with XYZ-ISP DSL. I have a D-Link router.
2. My OS is XP Home, SP2
3. My antivirus is PC Cillin 12 Internet Security, using that firewall.
4. I am using IE7B3 and when I got to my bank's secure website, I always get
an error message from PC Cillin that says "[exact text of whatever it
says]"
5. I have done "x" to troubleshoot already.
6. The errors started after [what changed between the time things worked and
the time they didn't]
7. I have no problem going to an unsecured website [or I do].
8. After I get the error message, I lose my Internet connection.
Naturally you would insert *your* details and you don't have to use my
words, but they will help you organize your thoughts so that people reading
about the problem can help you.
