Java/ByteVerify!Exploit

I have two instances of the subject virus on my computer. My virus program
(Computer Associates) won't remove it.
When I go to the CA web site it advises me to go to the "Java Plug-in
Control Panel" > Cache tab and to clear the Cache.

Is there any downside to clearing the Java cache?
