My reply is at the bottom of your message :
| Hi all,
|
| I'm new to this group.
|
| I have a virus, what else is new.
|
| I saw a report that CA Assoc 's detected:
|
| BackDoor CoreFlood - C:\Documen~1\Bigg~...\Selfdel7.exe
|
| I tried to search for it, no luck!
| I tried an online scan with Norton and Panda, no luck!
| I tried, Panda Virus Fix's, no luck!
| I tried another scan with CA Assoc. scanner, no luck!
|
| Here's what I did wrong:
|
| I deleted ASP.net thinking it was a virus taking over my user accounts.
| I had a dual boot system (Win98 SE & XP HE), I deleted the primary Ops
| Sys Win98 SE.
| I now have a drive that when it's inserted and I try to recover XP HE,
| the fan kicks into high gear and the machine eventually shuts down.
|
| I thought I had a machine problem (HP Pavillion Ze4525us), each time a
| new drive is inserted
| and Op System installed it works fine.
|
| Now I have two drives with info on them I want that are contaminated
| with this virus, bug or trojan.
|
| I lost a disk with AVG, Norton didn't stop it on another too (previous
| owner).
| I had no sucess with online scanners too (see above).
| My primary AV is CA (Computer Assoc).
|
| So which antivirus system can I use to get this bugger.
| I'll even take an effective fix program too.
|
| Any help is appreciated!
|
| Thanks
Online scanners will not help because they only scan , most don't remove or
even if they swear they remove they are unable because the malware is active.
Well,I tthink your post is ^unclear^ because I cannot understand what is
your OS , do you have two OS , you talk about many things at the same
time. You can do the general things to remove malware.Goto my web-site
http://pandaman.my.contact.bg
and perform the *fast* malware removal instructions to check and clean with
famous and good tools.
Then ,you're welcome to visit the "Protect your PC" section and learn how to
protect your computer. The information is really useful.
For your antivirus you can have a look at Nod32 , F-prot AV which are good
and not so expensive.
http://www.eset.com
http://www.f-prot.com
I now use Nod32 and I am glad with it.
