If you are using Outlook Express, you should be able to delete messages without
opening them by clicking "Tools", "Options", "Read", unchecking "Download
message when viewing in the Preview pane" and clicking "OK". Also, you should
probably click "Tools", "Options", "Security" and in the "Security Zone" box, make
sure that "Restricted sites zone" is selected. I also suggest you go to
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp , select "Scan for updates"
and install all the relevant patches for your system.
