BOINC only 'runs' when nothing else is running, IE, when the System Idle
Process would normally run, so it shouldn't affect your use of the system.

If you don't use the graphics you usually won't notice it.

The OP should find out who installed it on 'his' computer, and have that person
uninstall it if he doesn't want it running.
