Can you open the system.ini file with 'Notepad'? If you can, copy the first
15 or so lines of the file from Notepad and then paste them in your reply to
this newsgroup. It may be a hidden file, so you might need to change the
settings in 'Windows Explorer' to display hidden files.
You might also want to use the System Configuration utility in Windows XP
(msconfig) to view the system.ini settings.
If you feel uncomfortable with these suggestions then you probably shouldn't
try them until you learn a bit more.
What comments does 'SpyBot Search & Destroy' make about the "System.ini
file/program"? What kind of threat?
Is this a clean install of Windows XP?
Have you installed some really old programs?

| I was told that there is no use of System.ini in windows xp, as xp has
| system registry.
| Then why spybot S & D is showing System.ini file in its system startup
| window.
| Any help in this matter will be highly appreciated.
| Thanks & Regards.
