That is not undefined. That is

cos ((pi * pi) / 2) + i * sin ((pi * pi) / 2)

around the unit circle in the complex plane.

It works out that pi, e and i, thre greatest Mathematical constants are
related by the equation

e ^ ( pi * i) == -1

which follows from the identity

e ^ (i* pi * x) == cos(pi * x) + i * sin (pi * x)

which in turn follows for the Taylor series for e(x), sin(x), cos(x).
