| Hello,
|
| I am using windows XP home edition in my laptop. Recently I have
| noticed the my laptop is working slowly. I looked at the task manager
| and I can see there are some process with multiple instances. For
| example, my apache service apache.exe is running two instances and
| sometimes even three. I have cygwin running and there is like 3 bash
| running although I am just using one.
|
| Is this because of a virus or a worm?
|
| help me...

Some software will spawn multiple instances rather than being re-entrant.

If you are loading Apache then you are acting as a web server and if this is true you have a
higher probability of being attacked. One needs anti virus software, FireWall and and anti
adware/spyware software.

What have you you to scan the computer for malwatre ?

What tools are you using to secure and protect this platform ?
