That doesn't prove you have lost all Internet access. Only in IE.
The way to find out is open a Command Prompt and in the Command Prompt type...
ping -a yahoo.com
If you get a response such as...
Pinging yahoo.com [216.109.112.135] with 32 bytes of data:
Then you were able to get to the Internet, use a DNS server to resolve yahoo.com to its IP
address of 216.109.112.135.
