are just what I would tell you here in the newsgroup. The really
important things are to 1) have current, updated av; 2) use current,
updated malware removal tools; 3) do all scans in Safe Mode.

I don't use Windows for email and I don't get the volume of mail that
you do, but I use Thunderbird which I like a lot. There is a Windows
version. I have clients who use Eudora and they love it. I've never
tried it so can't comment except to say it looks extremely capable.
There is absolutely nothing preventing you from trying out different
mail programs to see if there is something you like better than OE. Or
OE may meet your needs just fine if you clean out your inboxes
occasionally!
