I'm running XP and do look at task manager where I see the CPU reachiung up
to 80% occupied - its very transient, not solid, and unfortunately you
cannot see from Task manager the process that is causing it.

If I compare it ot the other machinces (which have all the same software
etc. on them) on my network they display "normal" behaviour in that their
CPUs are not busy - hence my concern.

I do understand that modern systems have background tasks going on but this
CPU busininess seems to only have started in the past 2 weeks.

Regularilly running adware removing and Antivirus software does not seem to
help - even ending quite a few of the "suspect" processes, doesn't stop or
reduce it.
