If these are NetBIOS Pop-Up messages then get a cable/DSL Router such as the Linksys
BEFSR41. It will act like a simplistic FireWall and block the network messages that create
those pop-ups. There are many advantages as well. For example, if you are on DSL that uses
PPPoE as the connector then the Router will make the PPPoE connnection, not the PC. And
additional benefit is sharing the one WAN address with upto 253 LAN nodes.
