The SCR 3310 card reader had been running fine in Windows XP SP2 until
the "Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - March 2005" update ran in
XP SP2.
I tried updating the installed driver, but it would not update -- did
not find an updated or existing driver.
When I try the 'Roll Back Driver', a dialog window shows:
No driver files have been backed up for this device.
If you are having problems with this device you should view the
Troubleshooter information. Would you like to launch the
Troubleshooter?
I clicked Yes. The New Hardware Wizard window opens, select 'Yes, this
time only', click Next, click Next for 'Install the software
automatically', Hardware Update Wizard searches for an updated or a
driver for the 'SCR3310 USB Smart Card Driver', and it actually finds
the driver. I clicked Finish where the New Hardware Wizard did update
the installed driver:
Device Manager
- Smart card readers
- SCR3310 USB Smart Card Reader
