Got infected by a worm from MSN messenger

Dear All,
My PC got infected by a worm sent by a friend through MSN messenger. When I
open msn messenger it tries to send itself to friends in my contact list.
THe worm has turned off the System Restore option and I can't find it in My
Computer properties. When I launch the PC a bizarre message comes in a
notepad file. My programs don't work properly, can't open certain websites
or Outlook Express.
Anyone who knows how to get everything back to normal?
