Some days ago I visited the site "fineco-it.9upa.info". That site
automatically downloaded on my computer (WinXP with SP2) a program that,
every time I connect the computer to the net, downloads a virus. My
antivirus (Avast home) detects and deletes the virus just downloaded. The
problem is that I cannot detect the program automatically downloaded from
that site: both Avast and Ad-Aware (updated with the last definition files)
don't find anything.
I will try other anti spyware softwares.
The strange thing is that when I visited that site, I closed all the popups
WITHOUT clicking on any window. After few seconds the antivirus told me that
a virus was found on c:\windows folder. I didn't click on any link or popup
and the malaware installed on my pc! And now every time it tries to download
a virus.
Maybe a bug of IE6?
Can somebody (with a protected pc) try what happens when going to that site?
What techniques does that site use to automatically download itself to the
pc?
Thankyou
Gigi
