Unfortunately, Microsoft uses a percentage of space as a cache. However, with Today's large
hard disks this becomes very wasteful and can actually decrease performance rather increase
performance which is the purpose of the cache.
I strongly suggest a cache size of ~10MB. Anything else is counter productive.
Go to;
Start --> settings --> control panel --> internet options --> settings
Then change the size of the cache to ~10MB.
Other benefits would be; faster check disks, faster defragmentation, increased usable disk
space and faster anti virus "On Demand" scans.
