It would be a lot smarter not NOT have the suspected-infected PC
running the malware in Normal mode, and connected to the Internet,
before you start to scan it using data you just downloaded.

For example, malware may spoof URLs such as Trends. Who knows what av
"data" you downloaded, if you don't know where you were redirected to?
