I think multiple av programs are overkill and unnecessary, I also prefer a
paid subscription av program over that of a freeware av program, you get
what you pay for when it comes to system stability, compatability, updates
and upgrades. The most important issue to me is to have a program installed
and operating properly, updated frequently, and realtime protection always
running.
