I'm having two new problems:
First, a new icon has appeared in my notification area that claims to be
updates for windows service pack 2. However, it has nothing to do with
microsoft. I haven't installed the "updates" but the icon in the
notification area cannot be removed. I tried in "properties" to click
"always hide" but this did no good.
A second problem related to it is when I click on start and then "turn off
computer", the box that appears that says "hibernate", "shut down", and
"restart" now has a little updates shield icon on the shut down icon.
Further, just underneath it says that if you press shut down it will
automatically install the updates.
I tried a system restore and ran Norton A-V, SpyWareBlaster and AdAware6.0,
all to no avail. Anyone who can help me with this will be a god in my book!
