I doubt it's the antivirus - they usually operate as a proxy server as I
understand it (so Outlook thinks NAV is a mail server and NAV then completes
the transaction onward). Might be worth running the pandasoftware online
scan - I've found this very good indeed.
Otherwise, try downloading autoruns and process explorer from
sysinternals.com. They take a bit of figuring out, but if you look at
threads within services you can often track activity down to a single file.
