hi,
for the past month or so, my computer (toshiba laptop
w/windows xp) has been experiencing a problem. windows
starts perfectly fine, but at random intervals, or at
times when i try to load too many or certain specific
programs, what i assume is the processor within the
machine begins to beep (wrong word, but theres really no
other way to describe it) at rythmic intervals
(beep...beep...beep...beeeeeep, etc.) the screen then
either freezes for good or for an extended period of time
(though sometimes i can move the mouse without being able
to cick on anything.)
i have run numerous spyware/adware programs (spybot,
adaware, norton antivirus, spy killer, spyware doctor,)
and all have been unable to fix the problem. furthermore,
certain programs (partypoker, itunes, etc.) are now
unable to open, and the computer freezes whenever i try
to play a song on my winamp playist.
i understand this is a confusing problem, and i probably
haven't done the best job of describing it, but does
anyone have any idea of what's going on, and what i can
do to fix it? its rendered my computer near unusable.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer,
Matt
