Hello Bruce
yes you're right, i'm sorry i was so brief.
well, you asked too many questions i will do my best to answer them one by
one.
>Any error messages?
i can't remeber what it says because it goes so fast and most of times it
happens when my eyes are away. the only time i saw the message i could see a
pop up
window says that "some critical error happend because of a file in the
Program Files folder and system will be shut down in few seconds" and i'm
sure the "lsass" service was mentioned in that message!!!
> Under what specific circumstances do the shutdowns occur?
it occurs when i browse the internet after about 10 minutes of connecting
the line. but when i'm disconnected from the internet, my computer never
shut down and it works normally! but sometimes it doesn't happens even when
i'm connected for many hours!
> What specific action(s) do you perform immediately prior to each of the
shutdowns?
nothing odd, just the normal work every day, checking my email, sending some
emils "using outlook express 6" reading BBC news...
> Why do you think this might be virus related?
1. my computer was infected with sasser worm about 2 months ago and it was
then acting like this, so i thought it might be a new variant of sasser worm
(or whatever) and it's still unknown!
2. i didn't install any new hardware. i didn't change or update any device
driver. i didn't install any new software!
3. i'm the only one who use the computer, i'm sure i havn't used any
removable storage media since last week!
> What specific troubleshooting steps have you already peerformed? and what
were the
> results of each?
1. i scanned my computer using Norton AntiVirus; negative.
2. i scanned my computer using Kaspersky AntiVirus; negative.
3. i scanned my computer using McAfee "Stinger" fix tool; negative.
thanks
