yes you can fixs this but can take some time to do so.
first did you try last know config in the same screen as to go to safe mode.
if not try it.
i think that same screen has boot from disk and you can try boot from cd drive which for me is d drive.
if they work try this.
in start -all programs-accessories-command prompt type sfc /scannow make sure there is a space between the c and the / then enter
xp disk must stay in drive.
