Adware virus

I recently downloaded a spyware programe remover and
everytime i do a cleanup it comes up with the same
problem (DSO Exploit) and it tells me the problem is with
Microsoft Internet Explorer and the threat is a security
hole. I've tried searches on Microsoft and cannot locate
a fix.
Any suggestions welcome.
