My corporation just had another afternoon when no one could do any
work because yet another virus was causing all their computers to reboot.
We have a team of 20 IT guys who do nothing but try to support our
networking needs - and even they could not keep the viruses out! I bet
they didn't even uninstall the backdoor programs that came attached. I
guess that is not such a bad idea since we are behind a firewall - but really
if they can't keep our network safe how on earth do you expect a
grandfather to do it?

If you continue with your elitist attitude of "I know how to keep my system
safe from attack therefore everyone should or they should not be connected
to the internet" you may find yourself alone on the internet - and out of a job
by the way since a great deal of the market for computers these days is to
those grandfathers who cannot read the manual.
