Larry,
I'm currently working on the very same problem for my
neighbor. His IE keeps changing back to the following
starup page: res://yhvkc.dll/index.html#96676, no matter
what I done. His PC did have 51 files infected with
the "Trojan.ByteVerify" virus. I, supposedly, have been
successful in "removing/Quarantining" those files, which I
later deleted. However, there's no doubt that there is
some files or Registry Key Entries that are causing this.
I will tell you that another person "RRLOVER" (on a
different forum)had the same problem and was SUCCESSFUL in
romoving this annoying problem. The fix was SUPPOSEDLY a
good "TROJAN CLEANER" program. This user didn't mention
which one, though. The following URL
address: "http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,10508952~
mode=flat" is the user's request for help relating to this
issue and the supposed fix for it....I'll warn you, it's a
lot of boring reading, due to the activity logs being
generated and submitted by the user, "RRLOVER" when the
user was utilizing the "HIJACK-This" program logs to help
diagnose the problem with other forum members. If you
happen to come across THE FIX, could you please email me,
for that solution, if possible. I'm just as FRUSTRATED as
you, brother. Thanks !
Fellower Computer User,
