Hi Dan,

Witn new malware variants showing up daily (hourly?) no single security
tool or program will find all. Often more than one security program will
miss a new variant.

Your approach of using several different security programs is good.
Someone once called that "defense in depth". I trust that you are also
using a firewall, complex passwords, autoupdate for security updates etc?
This is all part of the defense in depth approach.

In addition to the AV you have installed, you should occasionally run a
virus scan using one of the available online AV scanners:

Trend Micro House Call:

Panda ActiveScan;

| I just updated Norton System Works from 2002 to 2004 and during the update
| process it scans your pc for viruses etc.. The scan picked up
Adware.binet &
| adware.favorite which I let Norton delete. Since I run Adaware & Spybot
| daily I'm wondering why they did not pick up these 2 items.
| Any guesses?
